The Rich

One day, the father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the countrywith the express purpose of showing him how poor people live.
They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of a man who was from a poor farmer family.
On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, 'How was the trip, son?'
'It was great, Dad.'
'So now do you know the difference between poor people and rich people?' the father asked.
'Oh yeah,' said the son.
'So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?' asked the father.

The son answered:Well, we have one dog and they had four.’’ ‘You have to drive me to the stables to ride my horse.‘They have three horses right there in their barn.’’We have a pool that only goes only to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end in sight.’’We have brass lanterns to light our garden at night and they have millions of stars.’’Our patio reaches across the backyard, but they have the whole horizon in front of them.’ ’We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that goes farther than I could see.’’We have servants who serve us, but they served one another and had fun doing it.’'We buy our food, and they grow most of theirs.’’We have walls all around our property to keep people out; they have friends all around coming to visit all the time.’

The boy's father was speechless.

Then his son added, 'Thanks Dad, I thought we were rich; I never realized how poor we are.'
